Fermenting Workshop

Fermentation is an age-old practice, a dance of human ingenuity and microbial magic that has given rise to some of the most beloved and beneficial foods and beverages around the globe. At [Ūn]Cultured, we believe in honoring these traditions while empowering you with the knowledge and skills to create your own fermented delights. In this workshop, you'll learn the secrets behind four fermented products and get to take home your creations. 

What You'll Learn: 

  1. Milk Kefir with Grains: 

    • ○  Process: Understand the symbiotic relationship between milk and kefir grains,
      and how to care for and cultivate these living cultures.

    • ○  Hands-On: Prepare your own batch of milk kefir using live kefir grains.

  1. Kefir Butter: 

    • ○  Process: Learn the transformation of milk kefir into butter, emphasizing the
      fermentation steps.

    • ○  Hands-On: Churn your own kefir butter, a delicious addition to any kitchen.

  1. Honey Whey Soda: 

    • ○  Process: Dive into the natural carbonation process that transforms honey whey
      into a refreshing, effervescent soda.

    • ○  Hands-On: Craft your own batch of honey whey soda, balancing sweetness and
      tang.

  1. Honey Garlic: 

    • ○  Process: Observe the fermentation of garlic in honey, creating a powerful, probiotic-rich condiment.

    • ○  Hands-On: Prepare a jar of honey garlic, perfect for boosting health and flavoring dishes.

Draw your very own Alice Oeher style cake portrait and eat cake!

Come along for a cake-filled afternoon of digital drawing led by artist Alice Oehr in the beautiful Co. Bake Space. On the table will be a vibrant still life incorporating some gorgeous cakes by the Co.Bake co-founders, Miss Trixie Drinks Tea and Sweet Bakes. Tickets include iPad hire, drinks (alcoholic & non-alc options available) and afternoon tea for all participants – we will be eating the cakes, plus a few extras!

Classes run for two hours and cover all the basics for drawing digitally on an iPad Pro with an Apple pencil (provided). Be inspired by the beautiful still life table and the peachy hues of Co. Bake Space, relax and have fun! Class format is casual and all levels and ages are welcome.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.
